ABOUT      

Good Morning Call is a very cute shoujo manga about a girl, Yoshikawa Nao, who had to live on her own after her parents decided to move out of the city, since she didn't want to leave her friends. As she was moving in her apartment, a boy appeared claiming that it was his apartment. They soon discovered that they've been duped out of their money by the real estate agency who has assigned them into the same apartment. After talking to landlady, and discovering that rent costs Y150,000, and not Y80,000, they both decided that instead of moving out and finding a new room, they can both share the costs.

It turns out that Nao's roommate is Uehara Hisashi, one of the popular boys in school. Even though it seemed like both individuals disliked each other with their constant arguements, this is just their way of showing that they are becoming comfortable with each other. Nao and Hisashi's relationship grows, as Nao starts liking Hisashi and also had to pretend that she's his girlfriend in school.

In addition to Nao and Hisashi's amusing interaction, there's also Marina, Nao's boy-obsessed friend; Yuri, Hisashi's sister-in-law and ex-crush; Abe Jun, the King of Confessions; and Mit-chan, Nao and Marina's friend. With everyone's cute personalities, and the way in which the artists draw the different emotions on their faces, it's hard not to love the characters, and the manga itself.

Good Morning Call was drawn and written by Takasuka Yue. It has already completed its run, with 11 Volumes released. It was serialized in Ribon Mascot Comics and published by Shueisha.
